Valamar: Use of autonomous robot vacuums in the hotel sector

Valamar is one of the leading hospitality companies in Croatia. The company operates 36 hotels and resorts as well as 15 campsites in eight destinations, including Obertauern in Austria. In high season, the hotels on the island of Rab face high demands in terms of efficiency, cleaning quality, and staff deployment. In addition to daily room cleaning, dust levels in guest rooms and public areas play an important role in guest comfort and employee well-being. At the same time, processes were to be standardized and housekeeping teams given sustainable relief. After evaluating various systems, Valamar decided to use autonomous robot vacuums from Nexaro. A total of 40 robots were installed. The devices are mainly used in stationary mode and supplemented by flexible drop-and-go applications for room cleaning. They take over repetitive vacuuming tasks independently and work closely with the housekeeping teams. Decisive factors were the compact design, intuitive operation, and intelligent fleet management.

Result:

The use of the robots led to a noticeable reduction in the workload of the housekeeping teams while maintaining consistently high cleaning quality. The rapid implementation and ease of use were rated particularly positively. In addition, the hotels report lower dust levels, fresher indoor air, and an overall more pleasant atmosphere for guests and employees. The combination of technology and teamwork supports efficient processes and forward-looking hotel operations.
