Wuppertal, June 2023 – The Wuppertal-based technology start-up Nexaro appeared on the scene to revolutionize commercial cleaning with its Nexaro cobotics system solution consisting of the Nexaro NR 1500 autonomous robot vacuum cleaner and the corresponding Nexaro HUB software solution. Nexaro is now being presented with not just one, but two German Brand Awards: “Winner” in the category “Excellent Brands—Industry, Machines & Engineering” and “Special Mention” in the category “Excellent Brands—Product Brand of the Year.”

At Nexaro, cobotics stands for genuine collaboration between humans and cutting-edge, autonomous robot technology, with cleaning personnel benefiting from the elimination of especially tiring and time-consuming floor cleaning as well as of fringe work hours, in particular overnight. This allows cleaning staff to focus on performing more demanding tasks. A positive side effect of this is an improvement in the professional image of cleaning staff. And this pays off for the cleaning companies, too: model calculations indicate a cost reduction of around 35% compared with traditional structures requiring a high deployment of staff.
The international German Brand Award jury was also convinced by these and other advantages. Presented by the German Design Council since 2016, the German Brand Award recognizes unique brands and brand creators based on the criteria of uniqueness and brand typology, brand distinctiveness, differentiation from the competition, and target group relevance. There were some 1,200 entries from 19 countries this year, with the best of them receiving an award.
The sector, too, has high hopes for cobotics. As shown by a representative study recently conducted by Mentefactum on behalf of Nexaro involving decision-makers at commercial cleaning companies in Germany, 87% of those surveyed think real collaboration between humans and machines in a cobotics system solution makes sense. Among those surveyed, 86% are of the opinion that the use of autonomous cleaning robots can physically relieve cleaning personnel, while 84% expect an enhancement in cleaning professionals’ occupational profile and 66% anticipate more attractive working hours for cleaning staff.

The German Brand Award has been presented by the German Design Council since 2016 and recognizes unique brands and brand creators. There were approximately 1,200 entries from 19 countries in 2023, and these were assessed by a jury of independent, interdisciplinary experts based on the criteria of uniqueness and brand typology, brand distinctiveness, differentiation from the competition, and target group relevance. The German Brand Award 2023 consists of two disciplines: “Excellent Brands” recognizes the best product and corporate brands within a sector, while “Excellence in Brand Strategy and Creation” acknowledges the strongest campaigns, concepts, and strategies within individual specialist disciplines.
