German Design Award for groundbreaking software solution Nexaro HUB

Erfolgreiche Auszeichnung für Nexaro: German Design Award für wegweisende Softwarelösung Nexaro HUB

Wuppertal, December 2023 – The Wuppertal technology start-up Nexaro has set out to revolutionize the commercial building cleaning industry with its cobotic system solution. A key factor in the solution's success is cleaning companies and specialists's acceptance of the disruptive Nexaro approach. Accordingly, the focus was on intuitive handling and a high-quality, attractive design when developing the Nexaro HUB, the central control software for the entire system. The jury of the German Design Awards has now awarded the Nexaro HUB the German Design Award as the „Winner“ of the „Excellent Communications Design – Interactive User Experience“ category.

In times when there is a shortage of skilled workers and growing pressure on costs and margins, implementing new technologies within the cleaning industry is becoming increasingly important. According to a study on “attitudes towards robotics in building cleaning” conducted by the opinion research institute Mentefactum, 61% of the decision-makers surveyed consider this approach to be correct and important. At the same time, 86% are of the opinion that there is a lack of acceptance for technological solutions, such as the use of intelligent machines. In particular, the industry is concerned about a lack of specialist knowledge and the concern that these solutions mean an increased need for training on the part of cleaning specialists.

“We know about the worries and fears of cleaning companies,” emphasizes Dr. Henning Hayn, General Manager at Nexaro. “Ease of use and the greatest possible flexibility were important to us when developing our solution. The fact that we have just received an award in the “Interactive User Experience” category shows us that we are on the right track.”

The German Design Award is one of the most respected awards in the design landscape across all industries and has been presented by the German Design Council since 2012. Every year, a large number of products and projects are submitted worldwide, of which only the best receive awards. The Winner Award is given for outstanding and exemplary design achievement.

About the German Design Award

The German Design Award is the premium prize of the German Design Council and one of the most recognized international design awards. The German Design Council has been honoring groundbreaking design with this coveted award since 2012. The submissions are evaluated by an international jury made up of leading experts from all design disciplines. Their judgment is of inestimable value – anyone who impresses this jury with their own product/project has demonstrated a high level of competence in design innovation and a sharp focus on the demands of their own customers and the market. An award – whether it's “Special Mention”, “Winner” or “Gold” – makes the work visible globally and also opens up a valuable network with international reach for designers and companies.
